DarkFighter technology enables colour imaging at illumination levels as low as 0.001 Lux, making the DS-2CD2366G2H-IU effective in near-dark environments without the need for supplemental white light. When ambient light falls to zero, the built-in IR illuminator extends coverage to 30 metres, automatically switching the camera to monochrome mode for clear night-time imagery. The F1.0 aperture collects significantly more light than conventional lenses, contributing to the camera's superior low-light capability.
AcuSense deep learning perimeter protection is fully integrated, covering line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting detection with alarm triggering targeted at human and vehicle classifications only. This focus on relevant targets substantially reduces false alarm rates from environmental causes such as animals, foliage movement or lighting changes, improving the efficiency of monitored and unmonitored alarm systems alike. The -U suffix denotes the inclusion of a built-in microphone, enabling real-time audio capture alongside the video feed for comprehensive scene monitoring.
Wide dynamic range performance of 120dB ensures clear, balanced imagery in challenging contrast environments such as entranceways, car parks and perimeter zones where both bright and dark areas appear simultaneously in the scene. H.265+ compression reduces bandwidth and storage consumption, and on-board microSD storage is supported up to 256GB with ANR to maintain footage continuity during network interruptions.
The turret form factor allows flexible three-axis adjustment during installation, with pan from 0 to 360 degrees, tilt from 0 to 75 degrees and rotation from 0 to 360 degrees. At 2.8mm, the horizontal field of view is 114.8 degrees, making it ideal for wide indoor and outdoor coverage scenarios. The housing is rated IP67 for complete dust and water ingress protection, and the camera operates across a temperature range of -30 degrees C to 60 degrees C. Power is provided via PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3, max 8W) or 12VDC, and ONVIF Profile S, G and T compliance ensures integration with a wide range of NVRs and VMS platforms.
