Hikvision is constantly updating its range of products and has recently had major firmware updates which can cause some compatibility issues if you have older firmware products - read more about this here.
Important notice: Please make sure you only ever update your firmware by downloading it from the hikvision website - you can download hikvision firmware here.
All hikvision products can be networked and come with the IVMS-4200 CMS software for use on a PC, and you can download the smart phone app IVMS-4500 on both iOS and Android. All their products use the same menu system making them an ideal choice if you have multiple sites as no matter what DVR/NVR/IP Camera you install on each site - you can log into all of them from one location and the menu/setup is similar for all.
There is also a FREE Hikvision DDNS - this means if you have a dynamic IP address, you can still view your CCTV over the internet by registering an account at www.hik-online.com and configuring your device on that website.

Our authorized Hikvision distribution partners have committed to serve as a link across the UK and Ireland value chain by providing excellent pre- and post-sale customer service.
Unfortunately, not every organisation currently selling Hikvision products has been authorized by Hikvision UK. There are possibilities that un-authorized dealers may sell counterfeit, used, or damaged products, which may have been altered with modified firmware and as such will not work or continue to work with legitimate products supplied through authorized channels. As per our company policy, Hikvision manufacturer's warranty will be void, since the product is no longer in original factory condition, and Hikvision offices will not provide any support or assistance with these products.
Please be informed that the authorized Hikvision UK distribution partner is officially entitled to describe itself as "Authorized Distributor" or "Authorized Resellers" and allowed to use the following protected branded logo's. Hikvision does not allow anyone, or consider them authorized to sell our products on open internet platform such as eBay, Amazon, Aliexpress, Snapdeal etc.
Before purchasing Hikvision products from an organisation, all customers should satisfy themselves that the company is "authorized". You should also consider if you are willing to risk your security systems by knowingly buying a product that could fail to safeguard the assets it was supposed to protect. Hikvision have upgraded their manufacturer warranty on some of their range as of August 2016, changes effect below models:
Cameras:
All 2-Line IP cameras are now supplied with a 3 Year Hikvision Manufacturer Warranty. You can tell the IP camera is part of the "2-Line" by simply noting the model number, all 2-Line cameras will have a model number that starts "DS-2CD2", so for example camera model DS-2CD2142FWD-I is part of the 2 Line Series, but model DS-2CD6362F-IV is part of the 6 Line Series.
This new warranty does NOT apply to any PTZ cameras.
DVRs/NVRs
All the "76" series NVRs have been upgraded to a 3 Year Manufacturer Warranty. This is all models that start "DS-76".
