IP CCTV cameras transmit video over your ethernet network, which means a single cable carries both power and data to each camera - no separate power supply needed. They offer the highest resolution available, from Full HD 1080P right up to 8MP 4K Ultra HD, and are the format we recommend for most new installations.
All the IP cameras we stock are PoE (Power over Ethernet), so they connect directly to a PoE NVR or PoE switch with a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. This keeps installation clean and straightforward. Because IP cameras process images internally, many models also support smart features like line crossing detection and motion alerts sent directly to your phone via the Hik-Connect app.
If you are upgrading from an existing analogue system and want to keep your coax cabling, take a look at our HD over Coax cameras instead. Not sure which format is right for you? Our CCTV buyers guide covers the decision in plain English.
To build a complete IP system you will need a NVR (Network Video Recorder) and Cat5e or Cat6 cable to connect each camera. Most of our NVRs have built-in PoE ports, so the recorder powers the cameras directly - no separate switch required for smaller systems. Browse our IP CCTV Systems if you would prefer a matched kit.
For cameras with full colour night vision, see our ColourVu cameras. For the highest resolution options, browse our 4K CCTV cameras. All Hikvision and HiLook IP cameras on this page are compatible with Hik-Connect for remote viewing on your phone or tablet.
