The Hikvision DS-2CE72UF3T-PIRXO is an 8MP 4K ColorVu PIR siren fixed turret camera for Turbo HD analogue systems. It combines full-colour 24/7 imaging with active deterrence - making it one of the most capable cameras in the Turbo HD range for perimeter protection and proactive intruder deterrence. Rather than simply recording events, the DS-2CE72UF3T-PIRXO is designed to intervene: detecting potential intruders via its built-in PIR sensor and responding with a programmable white strobe light and audible siren to warn them off before an incident escalates.
The camera uses an 8MP CMOS sensor delivering 3840 x 2160 (4K) resolution with Hikvision's ColorVu technology - an F1.0 aperture lens combined with white light supplemental illumination up to 20 metres - to produce full-colour footage around the clock, even in near-total darkness down to 0.0005 Lux. Unlike IR cameras that switch to black and white at night, the DS-2CE72UF3T-PIRXO maintains colour information at all times, providing footage where clothing colours, vehicle colours and other identifying details are clearly visible. The 2.8mm fixed lens delivers a wide 108° horizontal field of view, making it well suited to covering entrances, driveways, yard areas and building perimeters.
The integrated passive infrared (PIR) sensor provides a detection range of approximately 11 metres at 110° - specifically tuned to detect the heat signature of the human body, which substantially reduces false alarms compared to video motion detection alone. When the PIR is triggered, the camera can activate the built-in white strobe and siren via its alarm line output, providing immediate visible and audible deterrence. This active response capability makes the DS-2CE72UF3T-PIRXO particularly effective for unmanned or remotely monitored sites, where real-time deterrence has practical value alongside the evidential value of the video footage.
Image quality is further enhanced by 130dB true Wide Dynamic Range, handling strongly backlit scenes such as doorways and gated entrances with ease. 3D DNR and 2D DNR noise reduction keeps footage clean in low light. Four programmable privacy masks, white balance control and STD/HIGH-SAT/HIGHLIGHT image parameter switching give the installer full control over image optimisation. The camera supports all four major analogue HD signal formats - TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS - switchable from a single unit, providing broad DVR compatibility across different recorder generations and manufacturers.
Powered by 12VDC at up to 6.7W and communicating via the Hikvision-C coaxial protocol for remote on-screen menu control, the camera is housed in a compact IP67-rated turret body measuring Ø109.8 x 91.6mm, weighing approximately 416g. The metal front cover and plastic main body provide durability with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 60°C. Full pan, tilt and rotation adjustment ensures flexible aiming from any mount position.
