About the DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU
The Hikvision DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU is an 8 megapixel AcuSense DarkFighter fixed dome network camera, delivering 4K Ultra HD resolution in a vandal-resistant housing suitable for both indoor and outdoor professional surveillance installations. Based on a high-performance 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor, it produces a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 25fps, making it well suited to environments requiring high detail capture for forensic review, identification and wide-area coverage.
The camera is powered by Hikvision's DarkFighter technology, which combines a large sensor format with advanced signal processing to achieve exceptional low-light colour imaging down to 0.0008 Lux. EXIR 2.0 infrared LEDs extend the effective night vision range to 30 metres, with automatic switching between colour and monochrome modes based on ambient light levels. In complete darkness, the IR illuminators ensure clear black-and-white imagery without any additional lighting infrastructure.
AcuSense deep learning analytics are fully integrated, providing perimeter protection functions including line crossing, intrusion detection, region entrance and region exiting, with alarm triggering targeted exclusively at human and vehicle classifications. This significantly reduces the volume of false alarm events caused by animals, foliage, changing light conditions or other non-relevant motion, making the camera highly suitable for deployments where alarm management efficiency is important. Face capture is additionally supported, providing a valuable forensic tool for event review.
The -ISU variant includes a built-in microphone for real-time audio capture, an audio output interface for connecting an external speaker, and alarm I/O (1 input, 1 output) for integration with external sensors and devices. This allows the camera to be used as part of a broader detection and response system without requiring additional audio hardware.
Wide dynamic range performance reaches 130dB, handling high-contrast scenes such as entrance areas, doorways and perimeter zones with both bright sky and shaded foreground areas effectively. H.265+ compression significantly reduces storage and bandwidth requirements compared to older codecs, with support also for H.265, H.264+ and H.264. On-board storage is available via a built-in microSD slot supporting cards up to 512GB, with ANR ensuring footage continuity during any network interruption.
The housing is rated IP67 for dust and water ingress protection and IK10 for impact and vandal resistance, making it robust enough for exposed outdoor locations, car parks, retail environments and industrial premises. Operating temperature range is -30 degrees C to 60 degrees C. The camera is powered via PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3, max 9.5W) or 12VDC, and is ONVIF Profile S, G and T compliant for integration with a wide range of VMS platforms and NVRs. It weighs approximately 525g and measures 121.5mm diameter by 97.6mm in height.
