About the DS-7716NI-M4
The Hikvision DS-7716NI-M4 is a 16-channel M Series 8K Network Video Recorder in a 1.5U rack-mount chassis, sharing the same powerful processor, dual HDMI output capability, four-bay storage and comprehensive integration interfaces as its sibling the DS-7716NI-M4-16P - but without built-in PoE ports and with the addition of a second Gigabit LAN interface. It is designed for installations where cameras are connected via an existing managed PoE switch infrastructure, or where network separation between the camera network and the management network is required, with dual Gigabit LAN enabling isolation of recording traffic from other network segments.
Sixteen IP channels are supported with camera inputs up to 32MP resolution, and up to 8 channels can simultaneously operate at 32MP or 24MP when ultra HD resolution mode is enabled. Incoming and outgoing bandwidth is 256 Mbps, and H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression are all supported. H.265+ reduces storage consumption by up to 75% versus H.264, particularly valuable when filling all four HDD bays. Two independent RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces provide flexible network connectivity - one for camera traffic, one for management and remote access, or used in conjunction for link aggregation or failover depending on the installation design.
The dual HDMI output configuration is identical to the M4/16P. HDMI 1 supports up to 8K (7680 x 4320/30Hz) in simultaneous mode with VGA, while HDMI 2 provides an independent second display output at up to 4K (3840 x 2160/60Hz), enabling two monitors to be driven independently from a single NVR. When HDMI 1 is set to 8K, HDMI 2 is limited to 1080p. A CVBS output is also available for legacy display equipment. The M Series processor delivers the same decoding performance: 2-ch at 32MP plus 2-ch at 8MP simultaneously, or 10-ch at 8MP, 20-ch at 4MP or 40-ch at 1080p, all at 30fps, with 16-channel synchronous playback.
Four SATA interfaces each support a single HDD of up to 16TB, yielding a maximum on-board storage capacity of 64TB. An eSATA port provides external storage expansion. The alarm interface provides 16 alarm inputs and 9 alarm outputs, including a controllable 12VDC output for triggering external devices and a fixed 12VDC 1A power output. Two RS-485 half-duplex interfaces and one RS-232 serial interface support integration with PTZ cameras, access control panels and third-party equipment. Two front-panel USB 2.0 ports and a rear-panel USB 3.0 port complete the physical interface.
VCA analytics support motion detection, line crossing, intrusion detection, heat map, ANPR and people counting. POS transaction data can be overlaid on live view and playback, and used to trigger recordings and alarms. TLS stream encryption and double verification for playback and download provide robust remote access security. The unit measures 440 x 389 x 72mm, mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, weighs under 5kg without drives, and operates from 100-240VAC. For installers who prefer to manage their own PoE switch layer while still requiring 8K output, 64TB storage and full integration capability, the DS-7716NI-M4 provides the complete M Series feature set in a clean, PoE-free form factor.
