About the iDS-7208HTHI-M2-XT
The Hikvision iDS-7208HTHI-M2/XT is an 8-channel 4K AcuSense Turbo HD DVR with two SATA bays, delivering the highest Turbo HD recording resolution alongside the full AcuSense deep learning detection suite and significant on-board storage capacity. It is designed for demanding 8-channel installations where 4K recording quality, AI-powered smart detection and extended storage retention are all required simultaneously.
HDTVI encoding supports 8MP/4K at 12 and 15fps, 3K at 25/20fps, 5MP at 20fps and full 1080p/720p at 25/30fps across all 8 analogue BNC inputs. HDMI output supports 4K (3840x2160) at 30Hz with simultaneous VGA, allowing footage to be monitored and reviewed in full native 4K on a compatible display. Two SATA bays accept up to 12TB each, providing up to 24TB total on-site storage.
AcuSense deep learning delivers Motion Detection 2.0 on all 8 analogue channels, Perimeter Protection on up to 4 channels in the advanced model, and Facial Recognition with face picture comparison on up to 2 channels against up to 16 stored picture libraries. H.265 Pro+ compression reduces storage consumption significantly versus H.264. Total network bandwidth is 256 Mbps over a Gigabit Ethernet interface.
Hik-Connect remote access, ONVIF, ISUP and the full Hikvision network protocol stack are supported. Powered by 12VDC 5A, dimensions 385x315x52mm, under 2.1kg.
The DVR will also accept IP cameras alongside the analogue inputs if needed, useful for occasional one-off additions, though for an IP-only or IP-heavy install we'd recommend a dedicated NVR for better performance and feature support.
