About the iDS-7216HQHI-M1-XT
The Hikvision iDS-7216HQHI-M1/XT is a 16-channel 1080p AcuSense Turbo HD DVR, offering the largest analogue channel count of the single-HDD AcuSense range. It provides deep learning-based smart detection across all 16 channels in a compact 1U chassis, making it a cost-effective choice for large analogue HD installations where AI-powered false alarm reduction and smart search capability are required without the premium cost of 5MP or 4K recorders.
Motion Detection 2.0 runs on all 16 analogue channels simultaneously, using deep learning to distinguish human and vehicle motion from environmental triggers. Perimeter Protection is available on up to 8 channels in the advanced model, and Facial Recognition with face picture comparison, search and capture is supported on up to 4 channels against up to 16 stored libraries, the same capability as the higher-resolution HUHI models. AcuSearch smart playback covers all 16 channels by target type.
HDTVI recording supports up to 3K/5MP Lite at 12fps and 4MP Lite or 1080p at 15fps. A 1080p Lite mode is also available which achieves 25/30fps at slightly reduced resolution. H.265 Pro+ compression reduces storage needs significantly. HDMI output supports 4K (3840x2160) at 30Hz with simultaneous VGA, a notable feature for a 1080p-class recorder. One SATA bay accommodates up to 12TB.
Gigabit Ethernet, 256 Mbps total bandwidth, 128 remote connections, Hik-Connect, ONVIF and ISUP are all supported. Powered by 12VDC 2A, maximum 24W. Dimensions 320x240x48mm, weight under 2kg.
The DVR will also accept IP cameras alongside the analogue inputs if needed, useful for occasional one-off additions, though for an IP-only or IP-heavy install we'd recommend a dedicated NVR for better performance and feature support.
