About the iDS-7216HUHI-M2-PXT
The Hikvision iDS-7216HUHI-M2/PXT is a 16-channel 8MP AcuSense Turbo HD DVR with Power over Coaxial (PoC) support and two SATA bays. It is the top-tier PoC option in the Turbo HD AcuSense range, combining the highest analogue channel count with the ability to power compatible Hikvision PoC cameras directly over coaxial cable, eliminating the need for separate power supplies at each of 16 camera positions.
PoC support across all 16 BNC inputs significantly simplifies cabling on large installations, particularly on sites where running 16 separate power feeds would be time-consuming or impractical, such as commercial premises, schools, industrial facilities or multi-tenant buildings with distributed camera positions. Two SATA bays accommodate up to 12TB each for extended recording retention.
The full AcuSense deep learning suite covers Motion Detection 2.0 on all 16 analogue channels, Perimeter Protection on up to 8 channels in the advanced model, and Facial Recognition with comparison and search on up to 4 channels. HDTVI encoding reaches 8MP at 8fps and 3K/5MP at 12fps, with H.265 Pro+ compression. 4K HDMI output, Gigabit Ethernet, 256 Mbps bandwidth, Hik-Connect, ONVIF and ISUP are all standard.

The DVR will also accept IP cameras alongside the analogue inputs if needed, useful for occasional one-off additions, though for an IP-only or IP-heavy install we'd recommend a dedicated NVR for better performance and feature support.
