The Hikvision DS-2CE72UF3T-E is an 8MP 4K ColorVu fixed turret camera for Turbo HD analogue systems, delivering full-colour 24/7 imaging without the need for infrared illumination. Using a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and a powerful white light illuminator with a range of up to 40 metres, the camera produces rich, detailed colour images in conditions as low as 0.0005 Lux - and with the white light active, delivers full colour imagery in complete darkness at 0 Lux. It is an ideal upgrade choice for existing analogue coaxial installations where operators want to transition to 4K resolution and full-time colour without replacing cabling infrastructure.
The 8MP sensor outputs 3840 x 2160 resolution over the TVI signal at up to 12.5fps (PAL) or 15fps (NTSC), and also supports 3K at 20fps and 1080p at 25/30fps, giving compatibility with a wide range of Turbo HD DVRs. The 2.8mm fixed focal lens delivers a wide 110° horizontal field of view, making it well suited to monitoring open areas, car parks, reception spaces and corridors where maximum scene coverage is required. The F1.0 aperture maximises light gathering for the best possible low-light colour performance. True 130dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) ensures clear, balanced images even in scenes with significant contrast between bright and dark areas, such as building entrances with direct sunlight. 3D DNR suppresses noise and maintains clean, sharp images in low light without artefacts.
The camera supports PoC (Power over Coaxial) via the PoC.at standard, allowing both power and video signal to be carried over a single RG59 coaxial cable - eliminating the need for a separate power supply run to each camera and simplifying installation significantly in retrofit scenarios. It also accepts 12VDC if a conventional power supply is preferred. White light operates in Auto or Off modes, and the camera's solid white light alarm function can be configured to activate on motion detection. Four programmable privacy masks and four programmable motion detection areas provide flexible configuration options. Image parameters include brightness, contrast, mirror, sharpness, anti-banding and Smart Light adjustment.
The camera is housed in a compact turret form factor measuring Ø109.98 x 98.27mm and weighing approximately 350g. The metal main body and plastic enclosure are rated to IP67 for full protection against dust ingress and sustained water jets, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. The operating temperature range extends from -40°C to 50°C, providing reliable performance in harsh outdoor environments. Pan (0° to 360°), tilt (0° to 180°) and rotation (0° to 360°) adjustment give the installer maximum flexibility in positioning. Compatible accessories include wall mount, pole mount, corner mount, inclined ceiling mount and junction box.
