The Hikvision DS-2CE78H0T-IT3E is a 5MP PoC fixed turret camera for Turbo HD analogue systems, combining high-resolution IR imaging with Power over Coaxial (PoC.af) support - eliminating the need for a separate power supply cable and significantly simplifying installation on compatible PoC DVRs. For installers working with Hikvision PoC recorders, this camera can be both powered and controlled over the same coaxial cable that carries the video signal, making it one of the cleanest installation options in the Turbo HD analogue range.
The camera uses a 5MP CMOS sensor delivering 2560 x 1944 resolution with EXIR 2.0 infrared illumination covering up to 40 metres. The mechanical IR cut filter (ICR) provides accurate colour reproduction in daylight and switches automatically to sharp monochrome IR imaging as light levels drop, reaching a minimum illumination of 0.01 Lux at F2.0. The 2.8mm fixed focal lens offers a wide 93° horizontal field of view, well suited to entrances, corridors, car parks and open outdoor areas where broad coverage is the priority. Smart IR automatically adjusts IR intensity according to subject distance, preventing overexposure on nearby subjects while maintaining effective illumination at range.
The camera supports all four major analogue HD signal formats - TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS - switchable from a single unit, giving it broad compatibility with virtually any analogue HD DVR on the market. TVI frame rates include 5MP at 20fps, 4MP at 25/30fps and 1080p at 25/30fps, providing backward compatibility with older recorders. Digital WDR with BLC and Smart IR handles challenging lighting conditions, and STD/HIGH-SAT image parameter switching allows the installer to optimise colour saturation for the scene.
The ultra-low power consumption of just 3W maximum makes this camera particularly efficient when powered via PoC, staying well within PoC.af power budget limits. It can also be powered by a conventional 12VDC supply when installed with a non-PoC DVR, making it suitable for mixed or future-proofed installations. Communication is via Hikvision-C coaxial protocol for remote on-screen menu access and configuration.
The compact turret housing measures 91.0mm x Ø109.8mm and weighs approximately 326g, with IP67 protection for full outdoor use. The operating temperature range extends from -40°C to 60°C. Full pan (0° to 360°), tilt (0° to 75°) and rotation (0° to 360°) adjustment enables flexible positioning from any mount point. Compatible accessories include wall mount, pole mount, corner mount, junction box and inclined ceiling mount.
