About the DS-7732NI-M4
The Hikvision DS-7732NI-M4 is a 32-channel M Series 8K Network Video Recorder in a 1.5U rack-mount chassis, representing the highest channel capacity in the non-PoE M4 family. Designed for large-scale professional installations where cameras are connected via external managed switches, it delivers 320 Mbps incoming bandwidth, 400 Mbps outgoing bandwidth, 8K dual HDMI output, 64TB on-board storage capacity and the same comprehensive alarm and serial integration interfaces found across the M Series range - all without built-in PoE, keeping cabling architecture flexible for installers working with existing switch infrastructure.
Thirty-two IP camera channels are supported with inputs up to 32MP resolution, and up to 8 channels can simultaneously operate at 32MP or 24MP in ultra HD mode. The higher outgoing bandwidth of 400 Mbps compared to the 16-channel M4 model reflects the increased demand of streaming 32 channels simultaneously to remote clients and monitoring stations. Two independent Gigabit Ethernet interfaces provide network flexibility, allowing camera traffic and management access to be separated across different network segments - a common requirement in enterprise and critical infrastructure deployments. H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression are fully supported, with H.265+ reducing storage requirements by up to 75% versus H.264, highly significant when managing 32 channels of high-resolution recording across four drives.
Dual HDMI outputs provide the same display capability as the rest of the M4 range. HDMI 1 supports up to 8K (7680 x 4320/30Hz) in simultaneous mode with VGA, and HDMI 2 provides an independent second display at up to 4K (3840 x 2160/60Hz), enabling two independent monitors from a single NVR. VGA output supports up to 1080p, and a CVBS output is provided for legacy display equipment. The M Series processor delivers the same powerful decoding figures: 2-ch at 32MP plus 2-ch at 8MP simultaneously, or 10-ch at 8MP, 20-ch at 4MP or 40-ch at 1080p, all at 30fps, supporting 16-channel synchronous playback.
Four SATA interfaces each support a single HDD of up to 16TB, giving a maximum on-board storage capacity of 64TB. An eSATA port provides additional external storage expansion. The alarm interface provides 16 alarm inputs and 9 alarm outputs, including a controllable 12VDC output for triggering external alarm devices and a fixed 12VDC 1A power output. Two RS-485 half-duplex interfaces and one RS-232 serial interface enable integration with PTZ cameras, access control and third-party systems. Front-panel dual USB 2.0 and rear-panel USB 3.0 ports complete the interface.
VCA analytics support motion detection, line crossing, intrusion detection, heat map, ANPR and people counting across all connected cameras. POS transaction data can be overlaid on live view and playback and used to trigger recordings and alarms, making this model well suited to large retail and hospitality environments. OTAP protocol support additionally allows solar-powered cameras to be connected, with the NVR requesting streams on demand and the camera transmitting video according to a schedule - broadening the range of camera types that can be integrated. TLS stream encryption and double verification for playback and download provide robust security for remote access. The unit measures 445 x 400 x 75mm, mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, weighs under 5kg without drives and operates from 100-240VAC.
