About the HiLook by Hikvision 6 Camera 4MP ColorVu 3.0 Turret IP PoE Kit with 8ch NVR
This 6-camera kit steps up to the 8-channel NVR platform, giving six IPC-T249HAA-LU 4MP ColorVu 3.0 turret cameras alongside two spare PoE ports for future additions. It's the right scale for larger homes, small-to-medium commercial premises, or hospitality venues where the perimeter and key internal areas both need coverage. ColorVu 3.0's 0.0005 Lux minimum illumination delivers full-colour night vision across every camera, a meaningful upgrade over standard IR kits when reviewing footage for evidential purposes.
The 8-channel NVR provides 8 independent PoE ports rated at 75W total, comfortably powering all six cameras with two ports left spare for a doorbell, a gate camera, or an additional turret added down the line. Recording resolution supports up to 8MP per channel, so the system has full headroom to accept higher-resolution cameras later without an NVR swap. H.265+ compression keeps the storage profile manageable even with six channels running 24/7.
Typical install: a large detached home with front, rear, both sides, garage, and outbuilding coverage; a hospitality venue covering entrance, bar, kitchen pass, beer garden, and two car park angles; or a small office covering reception, two open-plan areas, server room access, and two external doors. The 2.8 mm wide lens means six cameras genuinely give meaningful coverage rather than overlapping shots of the same spots. The compact turret form factor sits neatly under soffits, on eaves, or wall-mounted with three-axis adjustment for accurate aiming, and the IP67 housing handles year-round UK weather without issue.
HikAI-ISP is the silent partner to ColorVu 3.0 across every camera in this kit. Pushing a sensor that hard at very low light levels would normally produce noisy, smeared footage, but HikAI-ISP applies real-time AI noise reduction that keeps fine detail intact while cleaning up the grain. Combined with 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range, the cameras handle the harder mixed-lighting scenarios common to UK installs: brightly lit entrances against dark car parks, illuminated signage against unlit pavement, sunlight bouncing off pale paving into a covered loading area.
Smart Hybrid Light gives flexibility on how each camera handles night-time visibility. Three modes are selectable per camera: always-on warm white light for 24/7 colour, traditional IR for low-key black-and-white surveillance to 30 m, or Smart mode where the camera idles in IR and only triggers the white light (and colour image) when human or vehicle motion is detected. Smart mode is genuinely useful where overnight white-light flooding would attract complaints from neighbours, but where the end user still wants evidence-grade colour footage when something actually happens.
Motion Detection 3.0 with human and vehicle classification ties the alerting layer together. Push notifications via the HiLookVision mobile app are filtered to actual people and vehicles rather than every gust of wind through a tree or cat across the lawn, so the system stays trusted by the end user. The NVR includes HDMI and VGA outputs for local monitoring, remote access via mobile app for live view, playback, and event alerts, and ONVIF compliance on the cameras means the kit will also work cleanly with most third-party NVR platforms if needed later.
