Grey cameras have quietly become the choice for modern properties, and this 24-camera kit puts them to work at scale. The IPC-T250H-MU in its grey finish sits beautifully against anthracite windows, slate cladding, stone, and contemporary render, blending into the architecture where a white camera would jump out. Each camera records detailed 5MP video and, thanks to the built-in microphone, sound as well, so a dispute at a gate or a doorway comes with audio to back up the pictures. EXIR night vision reaches up to 30m in total darkness, 120dB true WDR keeps faces visible against bright backgrounds, and the IP67 rated metal housings are sealed against dust and driving rain, rated from -30°C to 60°C. H.265+ compression on both cameras and recorder keeps file sizes lean, and with two SATA bays accepting up to 16TB each, the NVR can hold up to 32TB of footage, generous retention even with all 24 cameras busy.
A quick word on how a 24-camera system connects, because it is worth understanding before you buy. The NVR has 16 built-in PoE ports, so your first 16 cameras plug straight into the back of the recorder and are powered, discovered, and recording automatically, completely plug and play. Cameras 17 to 24 connect differently: they need a PoE switch, offered as an option in your choice of 8-port or 16-port versions, both featuring two Gigabit uplinks. No switch is included unless you select one when ordering, so do add it to your order if you are not supplying your own. The 8-port handles the remaining eight cameras exactly, while the 16-port leaves powered ports spare for pushing on towards the recorder's full 32 channels in future. One uplink connects to the NVR's LAN port, the other connects to your router or network so you keep remote access. The final eight cameras plug into the switch and are then manually added to the NVR using their IP addresses. This second stage is not plug and play and calls for a little networking knowledge. Day to day management is easy. The NVR's AI does the heavy lifting, with Motion Detection 2.0 across all channels and human and vehicle recognition cutting false alerts down to the events you actually care about, delivered to your phone through the free HiLookVision app. Back at base, a 4K HDMI output drives a pin sharp multi-camera display with an independent VGA feed for a second monitor.
