About the HiLook 5MP 24-Camera IP CCTV Kit
This 24-camera kit is built for serious coverage: larger homes, farms, schools, industrial units, and business premises where a handful of cameras simply will not cut it. At its heart is the HiLook HL-NVR-232MH-K-16P, a 32-channel Pro Series NVR with 16 built-in PoE ports, paired with 24 of HiLook's excellent IPC-T250H-MU 5MP turret cameras, each with a built-in microphone so you capture sound as well as sharp 5MP video at every position. With eight spare channels left on the recorder, there is still room to grow later.
Getting the first 16 cameras running could not be easier. Plug each one into a PoE port on the back of the NVR and the recorder powers it, finds it, and starts recording automatically, true plug and play over a single network cable per camera. For cameras 17 to 24, you will need a PoE switch, available to add to this kit in either 8-port or 16-port versions. No switch is included as standard, so be sure to select one when ordering unless you are supplying your own. An 8-port covers the remaining eight cameras neatly, while the 16-port leaves spare powered ports for growing the system towards the NVR's full 32 channels later. Either way, the switch has two Gigabit uplink ports: connect the NVR's LAN port to one uplink, and the second uplink to your router or existing network for remote access. The remaining eight cameras then plug into the switch and are manually added to the NVR by their IP address. Please be aware that this part of the installation is not plug and play and does require some basic networking knowledge, such as checking IP addresses and adding cameras through the NVR menu. We will help as much as we can to get you up and running, but if you are unsure about any of this, please email us with your questions before ordering and we will happily talk it through.
Once installed, the system is a pleasure to live with. Every camera records crisp 5MP detail with 120dB true WDR to tame harsh backlighting on doorways and forecourts, EXIR night vision reaches up to 30m in complete darkness, and the built-in microphones add a layer of audio evidence that video alone cannot provide. On the recording side, the NVR brings genuinely useful AI: Motion Detection 2.0 on all channels filters out foliage and headlights, and human and vehicle recognition helps ensure the alerts that reach your phone via the free HiLookVision app are the ones that matter. H.265+ compression squeezes far more footage onto the twin SATA bays, which accept up to 16TB each for a huge 32TB maximum, exactly what a 24-camera system needs for sensible retention times.
All the cameras are IP67 rated with metal bodies, happy outdoors in UK weather year round, and the discreet white turret design suits soffits, ceilings, and rendered walls alike. The NVR outputs at up to true 4K over HDMI for a sharp multi-camera wall on a large monitor, with an independent VGA output for a second screen.
