About the iDS-7208HUHI-M2-PXT
The Hikvision iDS-7208HUHI-M2/PXT is an 8-channel 8MP AcuSense Turbo HD DVR with Power over Coaxial (PoC) support and two SATA bays, combining the ability to power PoC cameras directly over coaxial cable with significantly expanded on-site storage capacity. It is the 8-channel PoC option for larger analogue HD installations requiring both convenient PoC camera cabling and extended recording retention.
PoC support across all BNC inputs allows compatible Hikvision cameras to be powered without separate power cables at each camera position, reducing installation time and simplifying cable management, particularly valuable on commercial sites, in ceilings, or in existing conduit routes where adding a second cable is difficult. Two SATA bays allow up to 12TB per drive, giving up to 24TB total on-site storage for extended recording retention periods.
AcuSense deep learning delivers Motion Detection 2.0 across all 8 analogue channels, Perimeter Protection on up to 8 channels in the advanced model, and Facial Recognition on up to 4 channels with searchable face picture libraries. HDTVI encoding reaches 8MP at 8fps and 3K/5MP at 12fps, with H.265 Pro+ compression. 4K HDMI output, Gigabit Ethernet, Hik-Connect remote access and ONVIF/ISUP protocol support are standard.
Powered by 12VDC, dimensions 385x315x52mm (wider chassis to accommodate 2 SATA bays and PoC circuitry), weight under 2.1kg.
The DVR will also accept IP cameras alongside the analogue inputs if needed, useful for occasional one-off additions, though for an IP-only or IP-heavy install we'd recommend a dedicated NVR for better performance and feature support.
