The Hikvision DS-7608NXI-K1-8P is an 8-channel AcuSense 4K Network Video Recorder with 8 built-in PoE ports, designed for professional IP camera installations requiring expanded channel capacity within a compact 1U desktop form factor. Part of the K Series Pro NVR range, it delivers plug-and-play camera connectivity, deep learning AcuSense analytics, H.265+ compression and 4K HDMI output, all in the same compact housing as its 4-channel sibling but with double the camera capacity and a significantly uprated PoE budget of 75W total.
Eight independent 10/100 Mbps PoE Ethernet interfaces provide direct plug-and-play connectivity for up to eight IP cameras, eliminating the need for a separate PoE switch in smaller installations. The NVR accepts IP video inputs up to 12MP, with both incoming and outgoing bandwidth of 80 Mbps. H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression are supported across all channels, with H.265+ delivering storage reductions of up to 75% versus H.264, substantially extending the recording capacity of the installed HDD.
The NVR supports the full AcuSense deep learning analytics suite. AI by Device functions include facial recognition, perimeter protection for human and vehicle classification at up to 4MP on 1 channel, and Motion Detection 2.0 across all 8 channels. Facial detection supports up to 1 channel at 8MP for video stream analytics, or 4-channel face picture comparison, with up to 16 face picture libraries storing up to 20,000 images. AI by Camera functions extend analytics capability to any connected AcuSense-capable camera across all channels. Smart search and smart playback enable rapid event retrieval by target type, greatly reducing review time compared to conventional timeline scrubbing.
The enhanced decoding capability of this model, 2-ch at 12MP, 3-ch at 8MP, 6-ch at 4MP or 12-ch at 1080p with AI active, provides substantially more headroom for live monitoring and playback than the standard variant. Video output is via independent HDMI (up to 4K/30Hz) and VGA (up to 1080p/60Hz), supporting 8-channel synchronous playback. A single SATA interface accepts one HDD of up to 10TB. TLS stream encryption secures remote access, and two USB 2.0 ports provide local backup capability.
The unit operates from a 48VDC power supply and consumes under 10W without HDD and with PoE disabled. Its compact 1U housing (320 x 240 x 48mm) and sub-1kg weight make it highly suitable for wall-box and shelf installations, well suited to small to medium commercial and professional residential deployments.
