The Hikvision DS-7616NI-M2-16P is a 16-channel M Series 8K Network Video Recorder with 16 built-in PoE ports, representing a significant step up from the K Series in terms of video output resolution, camera input resolution, bandwidth, storage capacity per drive, and overall system capability. Positioned in the Ultra Series, it is designed for demanding professional installations where future-proof image quality, high-density analytics and maximum storage flexibility are essential requirements.
Sixteen independent 10/100 Mbps PoE interfaces provide plug-and-play connectivity for up to 16 IP cameras, with a total PoE power budget of 200W (IEEE 802.3af/at). The NVR accepts IP video inputs up to 32MP resolution - with up to 8 channels simultaneously operating at 32MP or 24MP when ultra HD resolution mode is enabled - making it fully compatible with the latest generation of very high resolution sensors. Incoming and outgoing bandwidth is 256 Mbps, a substantial increase over K Series models, ensuring smooth multi-channel recording and streaming even with high-resolution cameras across all 16 channels. H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression are all supported, with H.265+ reducing storage consumption by up to 75% versus H.264.
The headline output capability is 8K HDMI (7680 x 4320/30Hz), making this the first level of Hikvision NVR to support 8K display output. This is combined with independent VGA output at up to 1080p and a CVBS output for legacy monitor connectivity. Video output operates in HDMI and VGA independent mode, and the recorder supports 16-channel synchronous playback. Decoding capacity is substantial: the M Series processor handles 2-ch at 32MP plus 2-ch at 8MP simultaneously, or 10-ch at 8MP, 20-ch at 4MP or 40-ch at 1080p - all at 30fps - providing exceptional headroom for live monitoring and multi-channel playback.
Two SATA interfaces each support a single HDD of up to 16TB, giving a maximum on-board storage capacity of 32TB. Four alarm inputs and one alarm output enable integration with external sensors and devices. Connectivity includes a front-panel USB 2.0 port and a rear-panel USB 3.0 port for faster local backup. One Gigabit RJ-45 LAN port handles network connectivity and remote access via Hik-Connect, DDNS and ONVIF. VCA analytics are supported for smart event types including motion detection, line crossing, intrusion detection, heat map, ANPR and people counting, as well as POS transaction overlay for retail and hospitality applications. TLS stream encryption secures all remote connections, and double verification for playback and download is supported for added security.
The unit measures 384 x 317 x 52mm, weighs under 3kg without a drive, operates from 100-240VAC and consumes under 15W without HDD and PoE disabled.
