About the HiLook by Hikvision 10 Camera 4MP ColorVu 3.0 Dome IP PoE Kit with 16ch NVR
The HLIP1631-4MP-IRCV3 is a HiLook by Hikvision 16 camera IP CCTV kit. It comes with a 16 channel NVR and sixteen 4MP ColorVu 3.0 vandal resistant dome cameras. As with all our kits, you can add cables, hard drives and a monitor as you need them.
ColorVu 3.0 cameras show colour in very low light, so you get colour footage at night long before any lighting is needed. When it is needed, each camera has infrared and a warm white light with a 30m range. You can choose colour all night, infrared only, or let the camera switch to white light when it detects someone.
The 2.8mm lens gives a wide 101.5 degree view, and the domes are vandal resistant (IK08) as well as weatherproof (IP67), so they suit lower mounting positions. Each camera has a built in microphone and can tell people and vehicles apart from other movement, which cuts down false alerts.
The NVR has 16 built in PoE ports, so each camera plugs straight in with one network cable for power and video. The hard drive isn't included. You can watch live, play back footage and get alerts on your phone with the free HiLookVision app.
If you need more than 16 cameras in future, the product options let you upgrade the NVR to a 32-channel version. Note that the 32-channel NVR still has 16 PoE ports built in, so any cameras beyond the first 16 will need to be connected via a separate PoE switch (not included).
A note on dome cameras: vandal resistant domes are the right choice where a camera might be tampered with or hit, but they need more care than a turret. Dust or tiny scratches on the dome can reflect the infrared and spoil the night picture, so keep it clean and don't let the dome touch the wall while you adjust the lens. Unless the area is high risk, we'd usually recommend a turret camera.
