About the HiLook by Hikvision 8 Camera 4MP ColorVu 3.0 Dome IP PoE Kit with 8ch NVR
This 8-camera kit fully loads an 8-channel PoE NVR with HiLook IPC-D149HAA-LU 4MP ColorVu 3.0 vandal domes for comprehensive coverage of a sizeable home, a retail premises, or a small commercial site. The cameras' 0.0005 Lux colour performance, courtesy of the F1.0 super-aperture lens and ColorVu 3.0 sensor, ensures every channel delivers usable true-colour footage at night rather than the monochrome of lesser systems.
Eight vandal domes allow genuinely thorough coverage with no obvious blind spots: full perimeter, multiple entrances, internal zones, and high-value areas can all be watched at once. Every camera carries the IK08 vandal rating and IP67 weatherproofing, with three-axis adjustment to lock in the exact view during installation.
Smart Hybrid Light blends IR and warm white light to 30 m so each camera keeps colour where there is ambient or supplement light, and Motion Detection 3.0 classifies humans and vehicles to keep alerts useful across a busy eight-channel system. Built-in microphones capture audio on every camera for added context.
With all eight PoE ports populated, the install stays neat, one cable per camera, with the NVR auto-adding each feed. H.265+ compression keeps storage manageable across eight streams, HDMI and VGA outputs serve local monitoring, and the HiLookVision app keeps the whole system accessible remotely.
A note on dome cameras: vandal-proof domes like these are a great choice for high-risk areas where a camera might be tampered with or struck. Do keep in mind, though, that they need more maintenance than a turret or bullet camera because of the glass dome. The dome can suffer from IR reflecting off dust or tiny scratches that are invisible to the human eye, and this can seriously affect night vision. With those "scratches" in mind, be extra cautious during installation: keep the dome clean and do not let the glass lid drop down and touch the wall while you adjust the lens. As a general rule we advise using turret cameras, unless the area is high-risk, in which case a vandal dome like this is the right tool for the job.
