About the DS-2CD23126G3-I2UY

The DS-2CD23126G3-I2UY is a 12MP AcuSense turret from Hikvision's Pro Series (EasyIP) range, built around a 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor with a maximum resolution of 4608 × 2592. The sensor format is the important part of that specification. Rather than crowding a high pixel count onto a small die, the 1/1.8" sensor keeps the individual photosites large enough to hold onto light, which is what allows the Powered by DarkFighter processing to reach a minimum illumination figure of 0.0008 lux in colour at F1.6 with AGC on. In practice that means usable colour detail from ambient street and building lighting well before the camera needs to fall back to infrared.

Detail retention is matched by 130 dB true WDR, which is where this model earns its place on entrances, loading bays, glazed receptions and any scene shot towards a bright opening. Combined with BLC, HLC, 3D DNR, defog and distortion correction, it gives the installer enough image tools to hold a difficult scene without dropping to a lower shutter speed and smearing moving subjects. Shutter range runs from 1 s to 1/100,000 s.

AcuSense handles the analytics side. Deep learning classification of human and vehicle targets runs at the edge and can be applied both to standard motion detection and to the perimeter protection rules, which cover line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting. Filtering by target type is the single most effective way of cutting nuisance alarms from foliage movement, rain, headlight sweep and animals, and it makes event-driven recording and push notification genuinely workable rather than something the customer switches off after a week. Face capture and scene change detection are also supported, along with four programmable polygon privacy masks.

Night-time supplement lighting is 850 nm infrared with a stated range of up to 30 m. Smart Supplement Light modulates the IR output according to the scene so that a subject close to the camera is not blown out while the background remains lit, which is a common failing on driveways and doorways where the target arrives at 2 m to 3 m. The 2.8 mm fixed lens supplied gives a 94.2° horizontal field of view with a depth of field from 2.9 m to infinity, and DORI figures of 117 m detect, 46 m observe, 23 m recognise and 11 m identify.

Audio is provided by a built-in arrayed dual-microphone with environment noise filtering, sampling up to 48 kHz across G.711, G.722.1, G.726, MP2L2, PCM, MP3 and AAC-LC. This is a listen-only model. If the site needs two-way audio, an active white strobe and an audible warning, the DS-2CD23126G3-IS2UY-SL covers the same optical platform with a speaker, alarm I/O and line in and line out terminals.

Mechanically the camera is metal cover and metal body, IP67 rated, with NEMA 4X anti-corrosion protection at Hikvision's moderate level, which covers coastal areas roughly 2 km inland and locations affected by acid rain. It measures Ø 138.3 mm × 115.4 mm and weighs approximately 750 g. Three-axis adjustment gives 0° to 360° pan, 0° to 75° tilt and 0° to 360° rotation, and the Y-series accessory line covers wall, corner, pendant, pole and junction box mounting. Operating range is -30 °C to 60 °C at 95 percent humidity or less.

Power is PoE at IEEE 802.3af Class 3, drawing a maximum of 10.5 W, or 12 VDC ± 25 percent at 0.7 A through a Ø 5.5 mm coaxial plug with reverse polarity protection. The network interface is a single self-adaptive 10M/100M RJ45. Main stream bit rate tops out at 24 Mbps with H.265+, and full 12MP resolution records at 20 fps on 50 Hz, with 25 fps available at 4K and below. Edge storage takes a microSD, microSDHC or microSDXC card up to 512 GB with ANR, alongside NAS recording over NFS or SMB/CIFS. Integration is through ONVIF Profile S, G and T, ISAPI, SDK and ISUP, with client support across iVMS-4200, HikCentral and Hik-Connect. Security includes 802.1X, TLS 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, HTTPS, IP address filtering, MAC host authentication and a security audit log.
