About the DS-2CD23126G3-IS2UY-SL-B

The DS-2CD23126G3-IS2UY-SL-B is the black finish version of Hikvision's 12MP AcuSense strobe and audible warning turret, identical in specification to the white model and chosen where the camera needs to sit unobtrusively on the building while still carrying an active deterrent. Black suits dark soffits, anthracite and timber cladding, black-painted steelwork, shadowed canopies and covered walkways, and it is the version that tends to get past a facilities manager or an architect who does not want a line of white units breaking up a frontage.

The deterrent hardware is what separates this model from the standard DS-2CD23126G3-I2UY. A white strobe light, a built-in smart PA speaker, an arrayed dual-microphone, line in and line out terminals, and one alarm input with one alarm output are all driven as linkages from AcuSense events. A person or vehicle detected crossing a line or entering a region can trigger the strobe, an audible warning, the alarm output, recording and a notification simultaneously, so the response happens while the intruder is still on site rather than during a footage review the following morning.

Deep learning classification is the reason this works in the field. The camera separates human and vehicle targets from general movement at the edge, so the strobe and speaker are not firing at foliage, weather, insects drawn to the infrared, or animals. Perimeter protection rules cover line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting, each filterable by target type, with face capture, scene change detection and four programmable polygon privacy masks alongside.

The imaging platform is a 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS at 4608 × 2592 in 16:9, recording at 20 fps at full resolution on 50 Hz and 25 fps at 4K and below, with a main stream bit rate up to 24 Mbps and H.265+ available. Powered by DarkFighter processing gives a minimum illumination figure of 0.0008 lux in colour at F1.6 with AGC on, with 850 nm infrared to 30 m and Smart Supplement Light controlling intensity for close subjects. True WDR at 130 dB, BLC, HLC, 3D DNR, defog and distortion correction cover difficult lighting, with a shutter range of 1 s to 1/100,000 s and SNR of 52 dB or better. The 2.8 mm lens supplied gives a 94.2° horizontal field of view with DORI distances of 117 m detect, 46 m observe, 23 m recognise and 11 m identify.

Audio specifications are worth noting at design stage. The built-in speaker has a maximum power consumption of 2 W and a maximum sound pressure level of 110 dB at 10 cm, which is enough for a doorway, a yard entrance or a car park bay but not for broadcasting across a large open site. Where more coverage is needed, the line out terminal supports an external amplified speaker at a maximum amplitude of 3.3 Vpp into 100 Ω, and the line in terminal accepts an external microphone at 3.3 Vpp with an input impedance of 4.7 KΩ. The alarm input and output are rated at a maximum of 24 VDC or 24 VAC at 1 A.

Power is PoE at IEEE 802.3at Class 4 with a maximum draw of 18 W, or 12 VDC ± 25 percent at 1.34 A via a Ø 5.5 mm coaxial plug with reverse polarity protection. Confirm the recorder or switch can supply Class 4 before ordering, as the 802.3af Class 3 ports found on some entry level NVRs will not run this camera. Connection is a single self-adaptive 10M/100M RJ45 with ONVIF Profile S, G and T, ISAPI, SDK and ISUP, 32 users across three permission levels, and security covering 802.1X, TLS 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, HTTPS, IP filtering, MAC host authentication and a security audit log.

Construction is metal cover and metal body, IP67 sealed, with NEMA 4X anti-corrosion protection at Hikvision's moderate level for coastal locations around 2 km inland and areas subject to acid rain. Dimensions are Ø 138.3 mm × 115.4 mm at approximately 820 g, with 0° to 360° pan, 0° to 75° tilt and 0° to 360° rotation, and an operating range of -30 °C to 60 °C at 95 percent humidity or less. Edge recording supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC up to 512 GB with ANR, plus NAS over NFS or SMB/CIFS, with iVMS-4200, HikCentral and Hik-Connect on the client side.
