The DS-2CD23126G3-I2UY-B is the black housing version of Hikvision's 12MP AcuSense Pro Series turret. Optically and electronically it is identical to the white model, so the specification below applies in full. What changes is where it can be specified without compromise. A black turret disappears into dark soffits, black powder-coated fascias, slate and timber cladding, and the recessed shadow lines of modern commercial frontages, which matters on sites where a planning officer, a facilities manager or an architect has a view on what gets fixed to the building. It is also the sensible default under dark canopies and in ceiling voids in retail, where a white unit reads as a bright disc from every angle in the room.

Underneath the finish, the platform is Hikvision's 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS running at a maximum resolution of 4608 × 2592. That larger sensor format is what keeps the 12MP pixel count usable in low light rather than merely impressive on paper, and it underpins the Powered by DarkFighter minimum illumination figure of 0.0008 lux in colour at F1.6 with AGC on. Colour rendition holds up on ambient light long after a smaller-sensor camera would have dropped to monochrome, and when it does switch, 850 nm infrared reaches up to 30 m with Smart Supplement Light throttling output so a subject arriving close to the lens is not blown out.

Analytics are handled by AcuSense, with deep learning classification of human and vehicle targets applied to motion detection and to the four perimeter protection rules: line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting. Target filtering is what makes event recording and push notification survive contact with a real site, cutting the alarms generated by moving foliage, rain, insects drawn to the IR and headlights sweeping a boundary. Face capture and scene change detection are supported, and four programmable polygon privacy masks are available where a scene overlooks a neighbouring property.

The camera carries 130 dB true WDR, which is the specification that matters on the shots most commonly asked of a turret at 2.8 mm: a doorway with daylight behind it, a shutter opening onto a yard, a reception desk in front of glazing. BLC, HLC, 3D DNR, defog and distortion correction are all available, with a shutter range of 1 s to 1/100,000 s. The supplied 2.8 mm fixed lens gives a 94.2° horizontal field of view, a depth of field from 2.9 m to infinity and DORI distances of 117 m detect, 46 m observe, 23 m recognise and 11 m identify.

A built-in arrayed dual-microphone with environment noise filtering provides listen-in audio across the usual codec set up to a 48 kHz sampling rate. There is no speaker or audio output on this model; where a site needs two-way talk, a white strobe and an audible warning, the DS-2CD23126G3-IS2UY-SL is the equivalent unit with those functions added.

The housing is metal cover and metal body, IP67 sealed, with NEMA 4X anti-corrosion protection at Hikvision's moderate level, suitable for coastal locations around 2 km inland and areas subject to acid rain. Dimensions are Ø 138.3 mm × 115.4 mm at approximately 750 g, with three-axis adjustment of 0° to 360° pan, 0° to 75° tilt and 0° to 360° rotation. The Y-series bracket range covers wall, corner, pendant, pole and junction box mounting, and the operating range is -30 °C to 60 °C.

Power is PoE at IEEE 802.3af Class 3 drawing up to 10.5 W, or 12 VDC ± 25 percent at 0.7 A via a Ø 5.5 mm coaxial plug with reverse polarity protection, over a single self-adaptive 10M/100M RJ45. Main stream bit rate reaches 24 Mbps with H.265+ available, and full 12MP records at 20 fps on 50 Hz with 25 fps at 4K and below. Edge storage supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC up to 512 GB with ANR, plus NAS over NFS or SMB/CIFS. Integration runs through ONVIF Profile S, G and T, ISAPI, SDK and ISUP, with iVMS-4200, HikCentral and Hik-Connect on the client side. Security covers 802.1X, TLS 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, HTTPS, IP filtering, MAC host authentication and a security audit log.
