The standout feature inherited from the cameras is their 0.0005 Lux minimum illumination in colour mode, an exceptional low-light figure made possible by the F1.0 super-aperture lens and the latest ColorVu 3.0 sensor. In practice that means usable, true-colour footage at night from porch light, streetlight, or even moonlight alone, rather than the grainy monochrome most kits at this price would give you.
The vandal dome form factor suits this scale of install well. The IK08-rated housing shrugs off knocks and tampering, while IP67 weatherproofing keeps it reliable outdoors through British winters. Each camera mounts neatly on a wall, soffit, or ceiling and adjusts on three axes to frame exactly the door, gate, or till point you need.
Smart Hybrid Light blends infrared and warm white light out to 30 m, so the system holds full colour where there is some light to work with and falls back to IR in total darkness. Motion Detection 3.0 classifies humans and vehicles, keeping app alerts meaningful rather than firing on every passing cat or shifting shadow, and a built-in microphone captures audio alongside the video for added context when reviewing an event.
Setup is genuinely plug-and-play: connect each camera to the NVR's PoE ports with a single cable for power and data, let the recorder auto-add them, and you are recording in minutes. A note on dome cameras: vandal-proof domes like these are a great choice for high-risk areas where a camera might be tampered with or struck. Do keep in mind, though, that they need more maintenance than a turret or bullet camera because of the glass dome. The dome can suffer from IR reflecting off dust or tiny scratches that are invisible to the human eye, and this can seriously affect night vision. With those "scratches" in mind, be extra cautious during installation: keep the dome clean and do not let the glass lid drop down and touch the wall while you adjust the lens. As a general rule we advise using turret cameras, unless the area is high-risk, in which case a vandal dome like this is the right tool for the job.
