Six CORE+ IPC-2120W-HT 12 megapixel turret cameras paired with the HiLook Pro Series HL-NVR-108MH-K-8P 8-channel PoE NVR gives you a serious mid-scale surveillance system with the resolution, intelligence, and audio capability to cover a larger domestic property, medium-sized commercial site, or multi-building installation in a single kit. Six channels are in use from the outset, leaving two spare PoE ports on the recorder for future expansion without any additional switching hardware required. Each camera connects via a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, combining power and data in one run.
The HL-NVR-108MH-K-8P is an 8-channel Pro Series NVR with 8 built-in PoE ports, 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth, and decoding capability up to 2 channels at 12MP, 4 channels at 8MP, or 8 channels at 4MP simultaneously. Running 6 cameras at 12MP is well within its capability. H.265+ compression handles storage efficiently, and a single hard drive up to 16 TB gives extended recording retention. The NVR provides independent HDMI (up to 4K) and VGA outputs, so two screens can be driven simultaneously with different views, which is useful in office and retail environments where a public-facing monitor and a private review screen are both needed. Simultaneous 8-channel playback means all cameras can be reviewed at the same time without needing to switch between views.
Six 12 megapixel cameras provide substantial coverage. Each IPC-2120W-HT covers a 113-degree horizontal field of view from its 2.8 mm lens, and at 4096 x 3072 pixels per camera, detail across each field of view is captured at a level that makes faces, registration plates, and clothing clearly identifiable in playback. For a larger house, you have enough cameras to cover front, rear, both side elevations, a garage approach, and a secondary entrance. For a business, six cameras can cover entrances, an external yard, a car park, loading areas, and internal zones with coverage to spare.
Smart Dual Light in each camera handles the transition from day to night automatically. Infrared covers up to 30 metres with invisible illumination, while the white light activates on motion to produce full-colour footage when deterrence or colour evidence quality is required. Motion Detection 2.0 filters detections by human and vehicle targets, keeping the event log and push notification feed meaningful rather than cluttered with irrelevant triggers. On a 6-camera system this matters more than on a 2-camera one: the ability to instantly identify which camera triggered an event, and to trust that the trigger was something worth looking at, makes the system far more manageable day to day.
All six cameras include built-in two-way audio. Each has a microphone recording alongside video and a 95 dB speaker for live voice communication via the Hik-Connect app. Covering six camera positions with interactive audio capability is a significant practical advantage for any property where staff are not always physically present at every access point. Each camera is housed in IP67-rated metal with a microSD slot for up to 512 GB of local on-board recording, and operates from -30 to 60 degrees Celsius. PoE power via IEEE 802.3af keeps installation to a single cable run per camera. The NVR provides front and rear USB ports for local backup and export.
