About the Hikvision 4K 6-Camera ColorVu PoC CCTV Kit
This 6-camera kit steps up to the iDS-7208HUHI-M2-PXT, Hikvision's 8-channel AcuSense PoC recorder, paired with six DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE 4K ColorVu Smart Hybrid Light turrets. It is a natural fit for larger homes, small commercial premises, and workshop or yard sites where four cameras leave blind spots. Every camera is powered over its own coax straight from the DVR, and with the LSYE running as a PoC.at device the 8-channel recorder will happily power a full complement of eight, so this configuration leaves two spare PoC channels ready for the almost inevitable "can you add one round the side" call-back, no extra power provision needed.
The move to the M2 chassis brings recording gains over the 4-channel model that matter on 8MP kit: full 8MP encoding at 8 fps is available across all channels, not just channel one, with 3K at 12 fps as the higher-motion alternative. Storage is twin SATA, up to 12 TB per bay, giving room for long retention or a mirrored setup on sites that demand it. AcuSense human and vehicle classification runs on every analogue channel, backed by up to 8-channel advanced perimeter protection, 4-channel facial recognition, and 8-channel AcuSearch for rapid target-based playback. H.265 Pro+ keeps six 8MP streams to a sensible footprint, and Hik-Connect covers remote viewing and push alerts.
The cameras themselves are the strongest reason to quote this kit against an IP equivalent. F1.0 ColorVu optics hold full colour down to 0.0005 lux, true 130 dB WDR handles glazed frontages and roller doors, and Smart Hybrid Light provides 40 m of white light and 40 m of IR with constant, covert, and event-triggered modes per camera, so a mixed scheme, IR on the perimeter, white light on entrances, is configured rather than engineered. Each camera's built-in microphone sends audio down the coax for synchronised sound on all six channels. IP67 sealing and NEMA 4X anti-corrosion certification make them safe to specify on exposed and coastal elevations.
For hybrid jobs, the M2 also accepts up to 16 IP cameras at 8MP over the network alongside the analogue channels. The kit is supplied without hard drives, so add one or two surveillance-rated HDDs to suit the retention period. Black and grey camera versions are available for darker or anthracite exteriors.
