The DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE sits at the top of Hikvision's Turbo HD ColorVu turret range, delivering genuine 4K resolution, 3840 × 2160, over standard coaxial cable. For installers, this is the camera that closes the gap between analogue and IP: 8MP detail, true WDR, audio over coax, and PoC power delivery, all running on the cabling already in the building. It transmits over TVI at 4K up to 15 fps, with 3K at 25 fps, plus 4MP and 1080p fallback modes for phased upgrades where the DVR is being replaced later.
The imaging package is a step above the mid-range ColorVu models. The F1.0 aperture and 4K sensor achieve a minimum illumination of 0.0005 lux with AGC on, holding full colour deep into the night before any supplement lighting is needed. When it is, the Smart Hybrid Light system provides the usual three options: constant white light for 24/7 colour, IR for discreet operation, or smart mode running IR with event-triggered white light. Both arrays reach 40 m. The standout addition here is true WDR rated at 130 dB or greater, a proper multi-exposure implementation rather than the digital WDR found further down the range. On doorways, loading bays, glazed entrances, and anywhere the camera faces strong backlight, the difference in usable detail is significant. Face AE, BLC, HLC, and 3D DNR complete the processing suite, alongside four programmable polygon privacy masks and four motion detection areas configurable from the DVR.
Audio is handled by a built-in microphone with a 5 m pickup radius, carried over the coaxial cable alongside video, so recorded footage includes synchronised sound with no separate audio run. Note this model is capture only, there is no onboard speaker, so specify the LTS series where talk-back is required.
This is the 2.8 mm fixed lens version, giving a 105° horizontal field of view and 132° diagonal on an M16 mount, ideal for wide coverage of entrances, forecourts, and general surveillance zones where the extra 4K pixel density keeps detail high across the whole scene. Power is notably flexible: alongside standard 12 VDC ±25%, the camera supports PoC.at, so compatible Hikvision DVRs can power it directly over the coax, eliminating local PSUs entirely. Maximum draw is 6.0 W.
Build quality reflects its flagship position. The metal-bodied turret is IP67 rated and additionally certified to NEMA 4X (NEMA 250-2018) for anti-corrosion protection, making it suitable for coastal sites, swimming pool enclosures, agricultural buildings, and industrial environments where standard housings degrade. Operating range is -40 °C to 60 °C. The bracket offers 360° pan, 75° tilt, and 360° rotation, and the compact body measures Ø110 mm × 93 mm at approximately 370 g. OSD control runs over coax via HIKVISION-C protocol.
