About the DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE-G
The DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE-G is the grey-finish edition of Hikvision's top-tier 4K Smart Hybrid Light ColorVu turret for the Turbo HD platform. Grey has become a firm favourite on modern builds, and this housing sits naturally against anthracite window frames, grey composite doors, aluminium fascias, and contemporary render, giving a coordinated look that neither the white nor black versions quite achieve on those surfaces. Behind the finish is the same class-leading specification: 3840 × 2160 resolution delivered over standard coaxial cable, TVI at 4K up to 15 fps with 3K at 25 fps, and 4MP and 1080p compatibility modes for sites still running older DVRs.
This model is a strong answer to the question of whether analogue can still compete. It can, and on refurbishment work it often wins outright: the existing coax carries 8MP video, synchronised audio from the built-in microphone, and, on compatible Hikvision DVRs, power as well, thanks to PoC.at support. That single-cable capability removes local power supplies from the design entirely and simplifies both the install and the fault-finding afterwards. Conventional 12 VDC ±25% input is retained, with a maximum draw of 6.0 W either way.
Optically, the F1.0 aperture and 4K sensor deliver a minimum illumination of 0.0005 lux with AGC on, which keeps scenes in full colour under little more than residual street lighting. The Smart Hybrid Light system adds 40 m of white light and 40 m of IR, with three operating modes: white light for continuous colour, IR for low-profile monitoring, or smart mode combining IR patrol with white light triggered on events. True WDR rated at 130 dB or greater is the specification that separates this camera from the rest of the analogue range, resolving detail in both the bright and shaded halves of high-contrast scenes such as glazed porches, garage openings, and courtyards backed by open sky. Face AE, BLC, HLC, HLS, and 3D DNR support it, and four polygon privacy masks plus four motion detection zones are set through the DVR menu over HIKVISION-C coaxial control.
The microphone captures audio within a 5 m radius and streams it over the same coax as the video, valuable for evidential purposes at doorways and service counters. There is no speaker fitted, so this is listen-only; choose the LTS family where two-way audio is required. Supplied here as the 2.8 mm fixed lens version, the camera covers a 105° horizontal and 132° diagonal field of view on an M16 mount, letting one unit oversee a wide approach while the 4K sensor preserves identification-grade detail.
Durability matches the specification. The metal-bodied housing is IP67 rated and carries NEMA 4X (NEMA 250-2018) anti-corrosion certification, so the grey finish will last on exposed elevations, coastal frontages, and around pools or plant rooms where cheaper housings pit and fade. It operates from -40 °C to 60 °C, measures a compact Ø110 mm × 93 mm, weighs around 370 g, and adjusts through 360° pan, 75° tilt, and 360° rotation. Optional accessories include the DS-1280ZJ-TR13 junction box, DS-1275ZJ-SUS pole mount, DS-1281ZJ-S angled base, DS-1272ZJ-110-TRS wall bracket, and DS-1276ZJ-SUS corner mount. The same camera is available in white as the DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE and black as the DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE-B.
